Issue: On certain vehicles, the recall repairs completed by a Porsche dealer during recall APA7 (Transport Canada recall no. 2023-313) may not be effective. As a result, a second repair may be required. On certain vehicles, the high-voltage electric heater could fail. If this happens, you may experience reduced cabin heat, and the windshield defrost system may not work properly. Note: This recall replaces Transport Canada recall no. 2023-313. Safety Risk: A windshield defroster that doesn't work may cause reduced visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail. For certain vehicles, as an interim repair, Porsche will advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the passenger compartment high-voltage electric heater with a new part of the same design. When the final repairs are available, Porsche will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the passenger compartment high-voltage electric heater with an improved part.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the passenger occupant classification system may malfunction. This could cause the airbag system to turn off the passenger-front airbag even when a passenger is seated. Note: This problem would cause an error message to display on the instrument panel and a warning chime to sound. The airbag indicator light would also display "passenger airbag off". Safety Risk: An airbag that is turned off could increase the risk of injury to a passenger in a crash. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the passenger-front seat cushion. Porsche advises that you shouldn't use the front passenger seat if an error message displays on the instrument panel or if the airbag indicator light displays "passenger airbag off" with an occupant in the seat.
Issue: On certain vehicles, there could be a problem inside the high-voltage battery. As a result, the battery modules could overheat and short circuit. Note: This recall is an expansion of Transport Canada recall nos. 2023-661, 2024-180 and 2024-181. Certain vehicles that were repaired under these recalls also require this repair. Safety Risk: A short circuit in the high-voltage battery can create a fire risk. Corrective Actions: To reduce the safety risk, Porsche recommends that you set the maximum charge setting of your vehicle at 80% until the recall repairs are completed. Porsche will notify owners by mail. As an interim repair, a dealer will inspect and, if necessary, replace the high-voltage battery modules. Once the final repair is available, Porsche will notify you by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to install an advanced diagnostic software that will monitor the high-voltage battery and warn you if it detects a problem.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the front brake hoses could fail and cause a progressive brake fluid leak. If this happens, you may experience a change in brake pedal feel and travel. This can cause reduced braking. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause extended stopping distances and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the front brake hoses.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the high-voltage battery may not be sealed properly. As a result, liquid could leak into the battery over time and cause arcing (sparks). Safety Risk: Electrical arcing inside the battery can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to perform a leak test on the high-voltage battery, and replace it if necessary.
This recall was replaced by Transport Canada recall no. 2025-572. Issue: On certain vehicles, the high-voltage electric heater could fail. If this happens, you may experience reduced cabin heat, and the windshield defrost system may not work properly. Safety Risk: A windshield defroster that doesn't work may cause reduced visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail and instruct you to bring your vehicle to a dealership to replace the passenger compartment high-voltage electric heater.
Issue: On certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the center screen and touch control panel to appear blank, or the real-top-view image to flicker when the vehicle is started. If this happens, the rearview camera image will not appear on the display. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when reversing. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Action: Porsche will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the central computer (PCM) software.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the front seat wiring could get damaged when adjusting a seat. If this happens, the airbag system may not work properly in a crash. Note: Damaged wiring can cause the red airbag warning light to stay on in the instrument cluster. Safety Risk: An airbag system that does not work properly could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect the front seat wiring and secure it under the seat.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the wiring harness for the centre-rear seat belt buckle could interfere with the lower universal anchorage system (UAS) for securing a child seat. As a result, you may not be able to properly attach a child seat in the right-rear seat using the UAS. Safety Risk: A child seat that isn't properly secured could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the wiring harness for the centre-rear seat belt buckle. The wiring will be re-routed and secured, as necessary.
Issue: Under certain conditions, the pre-collision system may automatically switch on the hazard warning lights in a non-emergency situation. Safety Risk: Hazard warning lights that switch on in a non-emergency situation may confuse other drivers, and could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Porsche will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to reprogram the vehicle. This will remove the automatic hazard warning light function.
